Happy New Year!

A little of our New Years Eve. It was a good one and we both had a great time. A picture of the 2 of us at one of the many bars we crashed. They were all offering free buffet dinners, so I felt I should try what everyone had to offer. Jillene pacing herself.
Derrick not...
This is a lantern the locals light and send off into the night. It is fueled by a type of candle which heats the trapped air in the paper bag.Doesn't do it much justice, but it is quite the site when they fill the sky. It isn't New Years until I try and steal a Tuk Tuk.This is me trying to explain to the owner/driver that it was all in good fun.Happy New Years Everyone! Miss you all. Heres hoping everyone's 2007 was as memorable as 2006.

...Unless you had a shitty year, then any year you choose!

Sadly I am back home in Calgary after a truly amazing adventure.. first the wedding of Cory and Wendy and then off to Bangkok and a lot of walking thru temples.. beautiful.. the night market and the floating market and so much to see and do.. then we went to Ko Chang to a beutiful beach area for two weeks.. We were joined by Cory and Wendy, Derrick and Jillene, David came too.. It was wonderful to have so many there to help celebrate a very different Christmas.. Loads of fun.. great beach area and wonderfully warm water and also a great Thai resturaunt.. It was fun watching the Kyakers and snorkellers,, no one tried the parasailing tho.. and so great to have so many of the grandsons that I havent seen much of there for the Holiday.. Missed Fraser but saw him at the wedding looking as handsome as ever ! Must admit that I have given up advertising Tiger beer and I was unable to acquire a Thai girl for Dave ! Your pictures are great Derrick.. keep them coming... take care love ya both G.

At least there was no blood dripping down your forehead, what no chin-ups on new years??
Couldn't you pay the tuk-tuk driver to let him, let you drive yourself home?? Jo thinks she could have had that tuk-tuk!! Big man in a little tuk-tuk!! Little girl in a little taxi truck!! Wish we were there!
