The Back Door Continued
From Zhongdian we had a long and rough bus ride to Daocheng. But we were rewarded with some spectacular sites. We went over numerous passes above the tree line and up to where there was snow.
A couple pictures of the views we enjoyed.
Daocheng wasn't too special. It was more-or-less a Chinese town in the middle of nowhere. We only spent on night, and this was our favorite part. What the heck was a pig doing on the road?
Enroute to Litang we were pretty much on the Tibetan Plateau. This is a picture of the type of buildings they have here. Their homes look more like castles.Whats wrong with this picture? Look closely. We're passing a Tibetan farm where people are living in tents. But what do we see? Do you see the pool table in the middle of the grazing pasture!?All passes seem to be religious and sacred to the Tibetans. They seem to worship peaks. This is a rock on one of the passes we went over which was covered with prayer flags.
More tents/homes of the Tibetans on the Tibetan Plateau.
A view in Kanding. Our last stop on the back door. A beautifully situated little town, but unfortunately it was pretty loud and annoying so our stay was short.

This ones all Jillenes! I wanted nothing to do with it. She wants the world to know how tough she has/had it in China. Especially one the back door. Believe it or not, this was one of the better toilets we've come across.
Lintang was by far the highlight on our backdoor adventure, so it deserved an entry all on it's own!
