Villa De Leiva

Feels like a while ago now... but Villa De Leiva was the first stop on our exit out of Bogota. A great place to to start your trip.  It's a town that is 500+ years old (I can't remember exact numbers anymore), but apparently this is still the same original plaza in the center of town; including the fountain which is where all the people used to come and get their water.

All in, it was a sleepy little town, very laid back, most people spending a good chunk of their time relaxing in cafes drinking coffee...

Walking around the streets taking in all the old architecture...

Declan taking the rare opportunity to stretch his legs in the foyer of our hotel...

Time for hike to a lookout spot.  I was awarded the duty of packing Declan up there... :)

Resting at the top, taking in the view

Snack time for Declan; one of his many new foods that he's discovered a fondness for (and likely one of the healthier ones!).  Give the guy and apple and he'll sit and gnaw away at it forever... :)
 Plaza Central from above...

I'm not coffee drinker, but offer me this in the cafĂ© and I don't mind hanging out there for a while...

Time to head to the next town; San Gil.  Had to take a bus to an intersection, and then flag down another bus heading the other direction.  We managed, but had to wait a while.  Had the spare time for a little photo Op.
