Lijiang
Lijiang was much like Dali, except better in every way. We finally escaped the rain, and stepped into a gorgeous town filled with traditional architecture and cobblestone streets. We stayed in an amazing guest house where the lady running the joint 'mama naxi' truly takes care of all her guests like they were infants and she was their mother. Constantly trying to feed us (and she fed us plenty), always showing up with kettle of tea as soon as we sat down, and scolding us if she didn't see us at the dinner table - then trying to feed us!
When we finally escaped the grasps of Mama during the day we were rewarded with sites like Black Dragon Pool and Bashio village where we visited a world renown Dr. Ho. A Chinese trained doctor whom practices a mix of modern medicine and traditional/herbal Chinese medicine. Apparently there are documented cases of him curing diseases as serious as Leukemia, and people travel from around the world just to visit him in his clinic. His prices, 'you pay what you feel you should pay'. It is up to you... A very interesting and energetic old man whom welcomes visitors into his office with open arms. I have little doubt actually that if people didn't stop in to see him, he would be out on the streets trying to meet others!

An old couple in Lijiang whom were more than happy to have their picture taken with me.
Jillene and I at Black Dragon Pools, a popular site in Lijiang.
A view from the town square.A more of town and what it is like to walk around old town.
Well we had to start putting in some China market pictures as well, cause they're definitely crazy over here. Anybody want some duck? Buy one, get one half free!
This one doesn't give you such a warm fuzzy feeling inside...
