And we're off

And we're on the road again... did what seems to be the obligatory stop in Bangkok enroute to the Philippines. We were only there for 2 nights, but we crammed as many amazing Thai meals as we could... this is our first night. We just got off the plane and checked into our hotel at midnight. Despite the fact that we'd been traveling for more than 24hrs, it didn't stop us from enjoying our first Chang and Tom Yum soup... They were great!

We also spent one night in Singapore with Cory, which was a good night. But we never even pulled the camera out of the bag!


Next stop Manila, just a few hours after we landed Mouck and Lynn followed; but without their luggage! So we had a couple days to kill in a very big and busy city. A little hotpot action for our first meal. Mouck seems to be enjoying it...

Intramurous, one of the few sights Manila has to offer (or that we took in anyway). Basically an old walled fort/city within the smoggy city of Manila. Old canons still guarding it's walls...

A church within Intramurous, Catholicism... a very strong part of Filipino life here. A gift left behind thanks to 350 years of Spanish rule.
But enough of Manila, we're off to the beach! We started in San Fernando, just a quick bus ride up the West coast. The bonus here was that there was surf, so I was able to get in a couple days of surfing. A great start to the trip, we were all in need of a little colour...
