Chengdu

After our back door adventure we arrived into Chengdu. We did a lot of thing in and around the city, so we'll just include a few of the highlights. We bought some tickets to and 'Opera' because we repeatedly heard good things, but it turned out to be more of a circus. Regardless, it was a great show and we enjoyed ourselves. This is a tea house in a Monastery we visited. We had a walk through another Chinese Market, and bloody hell if we didn't see more stuff to knock us back. For instance, what the hell is this below? A lot of weird stuff to sell and eat, that is for sure. This doesn't make someone feel very hungry either. Not too tough to determine what this is. I'll give you a hint, it's not chasing tennis balls any longer...But on to the good stuff! One thing Chengdu does have is a great Panda breeding and conservation center. There are tons of Pandas of all types and sizes. This is a Red Panda.More Red Pandas. They reminded me more of a raccoon than a Panda, but still pretty cute.
Adult Pandas eating away their breakfast. Not the most ambitious animals, we only saw one (of many) actually get up off its back and walk somewhere. Conveniently, it was just towards more food. This is the first animal that I didn't feel sorry for in a zoo setting. I am pretty sure these Pandas are more than happy. And the best part; the Panda cubs. These lovable little characters seem to get themselves in all kinds of trouble. There days are pretty much filled playing in the morning, eating, and then sleeping. Playing consists of climbing things and getting themselves into situations they'd rather not be in (like this poor little guy), or wrestling each other.
Here a little of both... one little guy climbing, and 2 wrestling. There are 3 going at it now. We could have watched these guys all day! I'm glad they tire out easily, otherwise we probably would have. Finally a little guy stopping for a snack. And then its nap time. Too cute!

Brilliant photos, as the chine’s say if it has 4 legs and a back to the sun they will eat it… some how I don’t think they will stop at that
