Hikkaduwa

A little well deserved beach to end our stay after some exertion in the hill country. The beach at Hikkaduwa...

Surfing was a bit crowded, but it didn't stop me from surfing 4-6hrs everyday for our 5 days here.
A quick road trip to neighboring Galle and their Fort.

The scooter that got us there...

The Sri Lanka way of fishing. These guys actually sit on these poles which have been put in calmer deeper waters where fish tend to congregate...
Some left over ruins from the tsunami...

A tsunami memorial...

Surfing at sunset...
We did one dive in Sri Lanka. It would have been more, but visibility was brutal and the dive company we tried out was even worse. The only dive we managed was this wreck dive of an old steam ship which sunk over 150 years ago. Despite the visibility and all other issues, we're glad we did it. It was a good dive...

A little R&R on the beach... cafes have these benchs so you can safe yourself from the sun. All you have to do is buy something from them. Oh well... I guess we'll just have to order a few $1.60 beers...
Last night out surfing... thats me to the left trying to get ahead of the wave before it closes out on me.
Coming in at the end of the session...
