Jaipur

In Jaipur we started with the Royal palace, which is still used today by the Maharajah of Jaipur. It was really nothing special in comparison to what we've seen, but you might as well see it while you're there!

Above is the current residence of Jaipur's royal family...
More cenographs, memorials to members of the royal family whom have since passed on...
Fort, fort, fort, fort... Do you notice a trend yet? Another fort! Quite spectacular to look at from the outside, but confusing on the inside with little to no signage to help you out. With numerous passages, stairs, and doorways with no common pattern to make sense of, it was easy to get lost. And get lost we did... Jillene were probably trapped in a section for 30mins trying to find our way out....

We took a bicycle rickshaw back to our hotel from dinner one night in Jaipur and the driver offered to take our picture ~ I think he just wanted to see our camera.
Of course with him being so friendly, it was only a matter of seconds and I had him off the front and riding in the back with Jillene. We were a hit along the long route home as he road with behind me pedaling...

We had to include this picture, for no other reason than it was the first time we could get the 2 animals of India that dominate everyday here in one frame... The goat, the cow, the monkey... You can't go a day without seeing them! The first 2 I don't mind, it's the monkey's we could do without, they're lose cannons.
A sad site in Jaipur, but a regular site in India ~ the living conditions of so many millions of people.
Camels aren't just for the desert!
